Baking and Coffee Making

I'm a BAKER now! Cambria and I have been helping Mamma in the Kitchen with BAKING, and it is SO fun! So far, we have made: Lemon-Cranberry Muffins, Chocolate Cupcakes for Shannon's Birthday, Morning Glory Muffins, and a Chocolate Cake for Tim's Birthday! My favorite parts of baking are smelling the vanilla and measuring the sugar (oh, and tasting the baking when it's done!!!)

I'm also becoming a BARISTA! I help Dadda make espresso every morning, and sometimes again after lunch. Dadda loves coffee, and I love helping him make it!

Sock Puppets and other January Activities

We made Sock Puppets! They are so fun... Mine has black hair and googly eyes and a BIG mouth! Dada taught me that Sock Puppets don't know how to talk in a normal voice, they can only SCREAM and YELL!

I've also had some super-fun times with Gaga! We hang out, go for walks and have lunch or supper together sometimes! January has been pretty fun, although we haven't had much SNOW or ICE at all!

Christmas Adventures: Part 3 of 3

Christmas at Gran and Grandad's house! We had lots of snow, and made a snowman, a snow house, and went sledding.... well, everyone else went sledding, I had a nap. The Christmas tree was so pretty, I liked the birds and angels.

I had so much fun playing with Coco, Momo, Aria and Mini! We played trains, lots of games, ate lots of good food and there was a dance party on New Years Eve!

Even Max the Cat got into the spirit of Christmas!

I love spending time with my family!!!

Christmas Adventures: Part Two of Three

More of my Christmas Adventures: This time, in video!
Sledding with Nana and Papa is so much fun!

I really liked learning about the nativity scene and advent candles.

Now, when Mama calls me a Little Monkey, I really am a Little Monkey!

I got LOTS of Thomas Trains for Christmas, and I LOVED playing with them!!!

Dada and I made a snow house! It was too cold for sleeping in, so we went back to Gran and Grandad's house.

There was a big dance party at New Years Eve, but I was only allowed to stay up until 8pm, so Dada and I had our own dance party!

There were a lot of people around over Christmas, so sometimes I spent some quiet time doing more quiet activities by myself.

Christmas is over, but the decorations are still really pretty and fun to play with. I'm really glad I got to spend so much time with my family! Christmas is so great! More about Christmas soon!

Christmas Adventures: Part One of Three

Wow, Christmas was so much fun! It was AMAZING! I will have to tell you about my adventures in three parts:
Part One: Nana and Papa's house:
We ate lots of yummy Christmas foods, like perogies, cookies and turkey!

We went to see a Christmas Lights display in a park; there were lots of trees and displays all covered in twinkle lights. I walked all around the park!

We visited Great-Grandma-Grace, who is 99 years older than me! Wow! I helped her unwrap a present!

Nana and Papa gave me some fun Thomas the Tank engine stuff! I especially liked Cranky the Crane and the play table.

I was a very good boy, and didn't try to open any presents until Christmas.

We had a nativity scene, and I liked playing with it: there were animals, kings, shepherds, angels, Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus!

On Christmas Eve, we lit Advent Candles, which I really liked: they were candles with names like Peace, Hope, Joy and stuff!

It snowed just enough for us to make a snowman and go sledding!

I hung my empty stocking at the chimney, and then in the morning it was full of presents! How did that happen?

I loved Christmas at Nana and Papa's house, but not just because of all the food and presents and fun; I love playing with Nana and Papa! That was the most fun of all.

Christmas Means....

COooooOOKIES!!!!! Christmas Cookies are so fun! First, you get a cookie; then you put LOTS of icing on it. I LOVE icing. THEN, you put sprinkles and little candies and jelly beans and a face on it. Then you EAT IT (or pick every thing off slowly and lick the icing.) Me and Cambria, and all of our Playgroup friends had a really good time with Christmas Cookies. But Mama says Christmas is still coming, it's not here yet; wow, I wonder what else Christmas Means???

A Few of My Favourite Things

I would like to share with you a few of my favorite things.

1.) I like to talk about Thomas the Tank Engine. All the time. Everyday. As much as possible. I even like to read the Thomas catalogue and just list all of the engines names, colours and numbers.

2.) I like to go for rides in the laundry basket; although, when you try to climb out on your own, sometimes you bump your face off the couch.

3.) I like to explore outside with Cambria; but it's getting colder, and I hate wearing mitties. I can't use my hands when the mitties are so big!

I also like all the Christmas Decorations, there are so many lights, and trees, and santa's, and neat things to look at. I'm very excited for Christmas! Everyone keeps talking about it, and I'm not sure what it is, but it sounds fun! Weeeee!

The Shortest Winter Ever

Wow, I think we had the shortest winter ever! We had one day last week where everything was covered in snow; it was so pretty and cold and we made a snow man! I was too excited to stay in the picture for very long; also, I didn't want to keep my mittens on, but I really enjoyed the snow, my snowsuit, my snow boots and everything.... but then it all melted, and now it's spring again. Oh well. Maybe winter will be longer next year! In the meantime, Cambria and I are quite enjoying books, as you can see.

We had another ADVENTURE! First, we learned how to fly by going SUPER HIGH on the swings!

Next, we found a WILD LION, and I went for a ride on it's back!

Then I tamed the Lion and showed him to all of my friends. "See, Mama?"

Then we hiked into a strange land with ROCKS and LEAVES and STICKS...

Then we learned how to WRESTLE which is now my new favorite activity!

Things to do in October and November!

Here are some fun things to do when the weather gets colder and you can't run around outside in barefeet, shorts and a t-shirt anymore:

#1.) Play "SMASH" with Dada in the forest: this involves smashing leaves off of trees with a stick.

#2). Play "TRAINS" at home with Cambria, or even better, spend a lot of time at the "CHOO-CHOO STORE" (the local toy store that has a train set of Thomas the Tank Engine out on a table!).

#3). FINGERPAINTING! it's so fun to smoosh the paints between my fingers!

I had an awesome birthday party! Nana, Papa and Gran came to visit, and I got PRESENTS! Lots of toys and new 'jammies! And my friend Ollie gave me a PIRATE SHIP! And Uncle Troy and Auntie Sherri sent me a BACKPACK in the mail!!!! AND we had CUPCAKES!!!! Birthdays are AWESOME!!!! Thank you to everyone who celebrated with me!!!

Fall !

I like Fall! Almost as much as I like summer, although I'm not sure that playing in the leaves is as good as going to the beach... At any rate, Fall is pretty neat: there are leaf piles to play in, and the trees are all changing colours, and we can still go on bike rides and adventures outside. But you have to be careful because there are a lot of "bad bugs" that can sting you, especially when you have an apple or a juice cup with you. I got really cool new Elmo pajamas as an early birthday present from Cousin Jackalyn! Thanks Cousin Jackalyn, they're so great, I NEVER want to take them off! EVER!

I also learned how to tell jokes this week: Listen to this one, it's hillarious, (or at least Cambria thinks so)! It's called "La la la... FEET!"

Also, Cambria and I are also training for the Olympics, mostly in Track. We're really fast!

I had a fun weekend at Nana and Papa's house! We did lots of neat stuff, like picking apples, throwing apples on the barn roof (wow, it made such a loud sound!), and going for rides in the tractor! I also learned how to play basketball and I helped Papa bring food in from the garden. I had such a good time that it was hard to go to sleep!

In other news, Cambria and I got new matching outfits; we went to visit our friend Sadie in them, and she liked them so much that she took us for a ride in her wagon. September is shaping up to be a pretty good month!

Bye Bye Summer! I will miss you over the fall, winter and spring.
We had a lot of good times together...
Playing at the beach, visiting family and friends, picking flowers and looking at bugs, eating ice cream and corn on the cob.... so many memories.
Most of all I think I will miss helping Mama with watering the flowers, plants and grass...
And being mostly naked a lot of the time, I'll miss that too.

In August, I got to visit with lots of family! Grandad (I call him DadDad) came for a visit, and brought yummy blueberries and a pop-up book about fish! It was nice to have a visit with him; now I try to call him on my toy telephone: "Hello? DadDad?"

Then we went camping at Sandbanks with Auntie CoCo (Corin), MoMo (Marchand) and Aria and Cheyanne (I call them "Ah-E-Ah" and "Minni"). There was SO MUCH SAND! We played in the water and I slept in a tent and fed my cereal to the fishies and ate outside! It was very fun, but I think I'll have even more fun next year when I'm bigger.

Wolfe Island Adventure

(click on a picture to see a larger version) Last week, Cambria was away, so Mummy and Katie and I went on an adventure to Wolfe Island! We had to ride on a big boat to get there. It was really interesting, I liked climbing the stairs and looking out over the water.

We bicycled on the island, and found a nice place to have a snack and put our feet in the water. I like Katie, she is fun and takes good care of me.

I like bicycling; I have a special seat on Mummy's bike, and my own special bike Hat!
I like to say "GO!" and "FAST!" and talk about the things I see like "TREES!" and "SKY!" and "BIRDS"! On the way home, it rained and we all got wet! But I didn't mind. It was such a fun day! I hope we go to Wolfe Island again soon!

Summer Fun with Friends and Family

I like summer; it seems like we have a new adventure almost every day!
Last weekend we went to Nana and Papa's house, and helped them chop up a big tree that fell over. I tried to help, but they didn't have any work gloves in my size, so I played with Nana instead.

We went for a big walk down the road and found train tracks and even saw a real train! Choo Choo! It was so loud!

I balanced on the tracks and threw the rocks around; it was really fun!

Back home, Dadda, Mama, Gran and I went to the beach; the sky was really neat, I liked the clouds and tried to tell everyone what shapes I saw in them. The summer sky is so blue and the clouds are so pretty!

I like playing with Gran! We went to a new park and played all over the climber, fed some ducks in the water, and coloured pictures with markers! It was a fun time! I can't quite say "Gran" yet, so I call her "Yan."

Dadda takes me swimming! I like sandy beaches with stones and shells; sometimes the water feels very cold, and other times it feels like a bath.

Even food in the summer is different! I get to have ice cream cones and we eat outside a lot; picnics are fun, but sometimes I get distracted by birds and the sky and the water, so it's hard to stay still and eat during picnics.

I like to play with my friends too; Ezra plays in the park with me, and he's really good at sharing.

And of course, Cambria and I have lots of fun, especially in the sandbox!

Trying to Stay Cool in the Heat Wave...pt 1

Cambria and I have been trying to stay cool; sometimes we splash in the cold water,

My First Camp IAWAH Experience

We had a vacation at Camp IAWAH! Dada was the speaker for the chapel time at Camp last week, so Mama and I got to tag along and it was super great!!! I spent every day at the beach and got to do all kinds of things like build sandcastles, find and throw seashells, go for canoe rides, play soccer, and go on a trampoline! I was very brave and went in the water up to my chest! I ate in a dining hall with 80 boys campers; the food was yummy and all the staff and campers were very nice to me. We had a room with a bunk bed, but Mama said I'm still too little for bunk beds, so I put my toys on it. We also saw deer and baby deer, crayfish, snakes, chipmunks and a beaver. Nana and Papa visited us while we were there, which was really fun too. I like Camp IAWAH A LOT!

What else I was up to in June...

June was such a busy month!
The trip to BC was super fun, and when we went home, we just kept on having fun!
Here are a few things I've been up to:

I had lots of fun with DadDad (Grandad) and Nan (Gran) while Mama and Dada went to a wedding.

I went to the zoo with Auntie Coco (Corin), Mama and Dada. I saw monkeys, camels and weird birds! I tried to pet the goats and donkeys, but I was a little scared.

We went on a hike, but Cambria and I got bored, so we went to the beach instead! I LOVE the beach, I like to move the water and sand around and feel the sand in my toes.

I learned how to become a CHAMPION by putting on a yellow headband
(ask Daddy about this one!):

I visited the Rideau Canal Locks with Mama and Dada; I learned about boats, and washed my hands in the water and walked across the locks!

I went to the Skeleton Park Music Festival, and my friend KiKi (Kristy) helped me make an Elmo flag at the kids craft area! It was AWESOME! (the music was good too).

And last but not least, we went STRAWBERRY PICKING! This is now my very most favorite thing to do ever. I ate one million strawberries. They were delicious.

Wow, we had so much fun in Golden, BC! I had a lot of firsts on this trip: my first airplane ride, my first time seeing mountains, waterfalls and a real live bear, my first ice cream cone, my first bounce on a trampoline, my first chili festival and my first time at a splash park! But most of all, I loved visiting my Cousins and Aunt and Uncle! I hope we can visit again soon!

BIG TEDDY!

A long time ago, Dadda's friend Chuck gave me a BIG TEDDY; but at the time I was too little to play with him, so he went into hibernation....

But a few days ago, the BIG TEDDY woke up, and now we play together all the time! I love him very much, and jump on him, and we do lots of things together. His favorite food is berries, just like me!!! I call him "TEDDYTEDDYTEDDYTEDDYTEDDY!!!!"

Wild Animal

A WILD ANIMAL got into our garbage yesterday! It was very scary, because Mummy says you never know what kind of trouble a WILD ANIMAL might get into. The animal was a bear, and while I love teddy bears, I wasn't so sure about this wild bear.

Mummy and I watched the bear for a while; eventually he smiled at us, so we tried to make friends with the bear.

The bear enjoyed ripping up Mummy's flowers, and eating snacks. He also liked to hear the birds and the wind in the trees.

After a while, we thought the bear was tame enough to come indoors, so we invited him in for tea and snacks. The bear met Nana and Papa, and had a lot of fun playing games and snuggling with them. They gave him a monkey so he wouldn't feel lonely for other wild animal friends.

The bear loved tea time and snacks; his table manners were a little on the poor side, but once we taught him to sit AT the table and not ON the table, he did fine.
I like this WILD BEAR a lot, I think Mummy is going to let me keep him.

The Great Outdoors.... the backyard and beyond

It's Spring and I can walk! I wear big boy shoes now. I love going to the park with Mummy and Daddy and Cambria and Mummy's friends. I like to chase the birds and pat the "uppies" (puppies). I like the sounds the birds make and there are so many things happening, like flowers growing, and people on bicycles, and lots of smells! I also like to run away from Mummy and have her chase me, then I scream and laugh when she catches me. I think I'm going to like Spring.

My First Prom Night

I went to my first prom on the weekend! It was at Church, and Mama and Dada were my date(s). It was an 80's theme prom (I don't really know what 80's means), so Mama went as an 80's fitness instructor, and Dada and I wore matching tuxes. It was really fun!

I was a little nervous when we first got there, so I stayed close to Dada. But then I discovered that there were balloons and fun music and snacks!

I felt better when my friend Ezra arrived. He forgot to wear pants!

I made sure that everyone had a balloon.

I was too nervous to dance with girls though; Mialana looked very pretty in her dress, but I just hid my face in my blankie.

Yikes, it's been a while since I wrote! Well, lets see, lots has happened in March: Mummy and I were sick, but we seem to be getting better now, so we're out and about again. I'm getting much better at walking now, but mostly indoors; Mummy tried to make me walk outside with big boy shoes, but I didn't like it much (see videos). I've also learned to drive the car Daddy got for me, and Elmo is my favorite toy, along with Teddy(s) and Blankie. I also learned how to "pretend"; I like to pretend that buttons on people's clothes are food, so I pick them and eat them. I've learned a lot of important words too, like "Hockey" "Ball" "Juice" "Elmo" "NeeNee (Ernie)" "Hello", "ByeBye" and "Apple". That's all for now!

Winter is really LONG! I think summer was like a million years ago, I wonder if it will ever be summer again. I'm trying to make the most of winter by getting outside for walks with Mummy and Cambria; since I can't actually walk myself, Mummy does most of the actual walking. Also, we invite friends over to play; I played with my friend Ollie this week, he is BIG and fun and can do alot of things. Daddy got me a funny LadyBug hat for Valentines, it feels funny.... Does anyone know when summer is coming?

Boating and VALENTINES!!!

Dada takes me boating; we motor around the kitchen and living room in a little boat that I made myself; sometimes I take Teddy with me, other times I take Elmo.
Sometimes the boat is fast, other times the boat is slow.
Sometimes I have a paddle, other times I have my blankie as a sail.
Dada says we can go in a real boat in the summer.
I like Boating.

I also like DANCING with Dada and Gaga (I've re-named Kat to Gaga).
This is one of our favorite songs, and I think it's a good one for Valentines' Day!

Christmas was great! Nana, Papa, Gran and Grandad were all there, with Mama and Dadoo of course, and we had so much fun! I got LOTS of presents! I also got to do lots of fun things like sledding, hanging my stocking, snuggling with my grandparents and playing with the Christmas tree ornaments! I also got to visit with Grandma Grace who is 100 years old! Wow! She must be really smart, because I'm only 14 months old, and I've got a lot of stuff figured out. Anyway, Christmas is really great; I had a great time with my family and I hope everyone had a really good Christmas with their families!

December has been pretty good so far; although I'm not really into wearing my snowsuit or mittens. I think summer and fall were better seasons for clothing (or lack of clothing). Anyway; these days I play with my friend Cambria a lot, and we go to a playgroup or the library and play with fun toys. Sometimes Daddy is home and we play at the park if it isn't too cold. Also, Daddy taught me how to colour with markers! Other times, Mummy is too busy to notice that I'm getting into mischief and dumping flour on the floor; then I get in trouble. Right now I have bronchitus and have to take banana flavour medicine and a puffer. So, overall, December has it's ups and downs; Mummy says Christmas is coming! I hope it will be fun!

Mummy has had trouble making my blog work recently, but here are a few quick updates of how my 13th month in Life has been going. I have become proficient in the use of kitchen implements, particularly as hats.

I have a friend who comes to play at my house a lot now, we eat lunch together!

I got a really neat hat from Auntie Sherri and Uncle Troy that makes me look like a giraffe.

Daddy's glasses and hat are too big for me, but I still like to grab them.

I had my FIRST EVER birthday party on the weekend; Nana and Poppa and Gran and Gramps and Auntie Corin all came to see me, and I got new fun PRESENTS, and I got to eat a CUPCAKE, and we went for a little hike, and a had a BALLOON, and everyone talked to me and played with me ALL DAY! IT WAS SO FUN! I'm definitely going to have another birthday again soon. I like them a lot.

Thanksgiving Weekend

I had my first Thanksgiving at Nana Sue and Poppa Joe's house! We had turkey, played in the sunshine and saw some cows! We also watched a movie called "BABIES" which I LOVED!

Autumn Hike in the Woods!

Mummy and Daddy and I went for a Hike in the Woods on the weekend! It is autumn now, or "fall", and there are many new things I am learning about autumn:

#1) My BIRTHDAY is in autumn, I will be One Year Old very soon!
#2) It gets colder outside and I have to wear more clothes and shoes and hats, which I don't like; I liked wearing just my diaper all summer. Hats and boots are a bother.
#3) There are a lot of neat smells and things to touch and look at in the Woods. Going on Hikes in the Woods is very interesting.

I will be one whole year old in exactly one month! Today I am eleven months old; I am working hard on my clapping, pointing and waving skills so they will be in top form for my first birthday. I can also feed myself really well AND I can feed Daddy too! At the same time! Just see for yourself:

Fun at Gran and Gramps House

This past weekend we went to Gran and Gramp's house cause it was Mummy's birthday. We did all kinds of fun stuff, like going on a hike, chasing birds, playing in the sun, AND we even planted a tree for me; it's an oak tree, and it's just little, but it will get bigger... just like me!
But it wasn't all fun and games; I worked very hard on my pointing and waving skills, and even tried out some new crawl moves on the grass!

More visits with Family! This past weekend we went to see Mummy's side of the family at the Opinicon Resort near Chaffey's Locks. I got to meet my cousins: two of the cousins are very close to my age, so I think we'll have lots of fun together when we are bigger. Their names are Owen and Thomas; so Mummy says our initials spell "NOT" or "TROUBLE". I don't know what Mummy is talking about. It rained all weekend, so I'm glad we had little cabins to sleep in. We went to see the locks, where they let boats through these gates in the water. We also had lots of yummy food, and I got to try pickles for the first time: I LOVE PICKLES. They are my new favourite food. Visiting family is fun, but tiring; this week we are taking a rest and staying home!

Camping USA!

We went camping in the USA with tents, a campfire and a beach! It was super fun! I went swimming, and exploring, and played in the sand, and got sunscreen in my hair, and ate good foods. AND I slept in a tent for the first time, it was pretty neat. I think I like camping. (Mommy took a video but it won't upload, so here is a picture of me and Daddy in the tent).

Visits with Cousins and Family!

Woooooooooooo! My cousins came to visit! They are bigger than me, and are soooooo interesting! I also got to see Auntie Sherri, Uncle Troy, Nana and Poppa. We had so much fun, and did so many things, but I'm exhausted now and have to go to bed. I'll tell you about it tomorrow!

Laughing with Daddy

I love my Daddy! He is helping me work on my laughing skills; I now I have at least three different laughs. The first one is my "Happy-Chuckle", which I mostly use to humour adults who are trying to be funny. The second one is my "Scream-Giggle" which is handy when I'm being tickled or if I see something really funny, like a ceiling fan. And last but not least is my "Evil-Villain-Cackle", which is good for plotting world domination. Here is a video of me in a practice session.

The outdoors is wild and interesting and big. Sometimes I like it; I can see interesting plants and flowers and bugs. Other times I don't like it, especially when I see cats and dogs; they are bad and scary. I went on safari in the backyard and discovered many things, including some vines, some bugs and some pointy things. I got a mosquito bite. Then I had a nap.

Sit Up and Take Notice

I'm really working on my mobility these days; crawling/dragging myself around is getting easier, and I am also quite accomplished at getting up to sitting position and back down again. My favourite sounds recently are "dada ada dat" and "mama mum ma". And of course growling and grrring. Also, Mummy and Daddy are starting to let me feed myself a little bit; I love shoving bits of cheese and fruit and bread into my face.
Daddy says that Auntie Sherri, Uncle Troy and Cousins Makenna and Keziah are all coming to visit soon! Hooray, it will be fun to visit with family!

The Discovery of Gravity and Crawling

This week I have made two important discoveries: gravity and crawling. Crawling is hard work, I don't really like it, but it gets me where I want to go. Gravity is fun, I like to drop things and see what noises they make, or if they bounce. Here is a video of me experimenting with both at the same time!

Weekend at Gran and Gramps

We went to Gran and Gramp's House over the weekend; Auntie Corin, Marchand, Aria and Cheyanne were all there to play with me! We had fun playing with books and a soccor ball and swimming in the river! I like swimming quite a lot, and I can make motorboat noises with my mouth. I hope I get to go swimming again soon!

Peek-a-boo Games

Hooray! Daddy is home from China! He brought me some toys; one is a little square-headed man called "Happy Birthday Tofu", and it has my birthday date on it. The other one is a creepy yellow turtle that glides and sings a weird creepy song. It made me cry the first time I saw it.

I'm glad Daddy's home: he does all kinds of fun things, like feed me hamburgers!

Today we are going to a wedding! I hope it's as fun as the last wedding I went to!

Hello Friends! Daddy was away in China this week; I'm not sure where China is, I think it must be further away than the park. Anyway, Mummy and I have been keeping busy waiting for Daddy to come home, and we've had lots of visits! Liz is teaching me about yoga; Gran came for a visit and we went to Perth; Auntie Corin came and took pictures of me and fed me lots of food; we also visited with Katie, Jenni, Melinda and Kat!!! I'm also developing a relationship with the lamp in the kitchen; it is so beautiful.... It has been a fun week, but I miss my Daddy. I hope he comes back soon!!!

Weddings and Weeds

I went to my very first Wedding on the weekend! It was in Toronto and the wedding was very pretty and exciting and the city was very big and loud: I got to stay up late and party! I met a lot of new friends, and I even got to wear a tux; but by the end of the night I was very sleepy:

When we got home from the Wedding, Gran came to help Daddy and some friends put a Lawn in our backyard, and do some gardening. I helped dig the dirt, and I also got to play with Mummy's friend Katrina. Daddy says that once the grass takes root I will have a yard to play in; all I have to do now is learn to crawl and walk! Hooray for Lawn!

Getting my point across to Mummy and Daddy can be hard... sometimes they just don't understand me... so, I've decided to make things simpler for them with a series of grunts, growls and barks. Hopefully they will learn the system quickly so that I won't have to look so silly.

The month of May has been busy and fun, with many new adventures; recently it's been warm enough to go to the park near our house. Mummy and Daddy take me to the swings, and it is very fun. Sometimes Daddy goes on the swing with me, and sometimes I swing all by myself; it can be lonely when you're swinging all alone, so I talk to myself... Swinging is a lot of hard work too, so at the end of a long afternoon in the park, Daddy and I drink lemonade together.

The Many Faces of Fine Dining

Eating is a big part of my day now, as I am eating solid foods; well, pureed solid foods at least. I have found eating to be a multi-faceted experience. As I develop a palate, I am also developing my inner food-critic.

Sometimes, eating is fun and I really like what Mummy feeds me. The food tastes smooth and sweet.

Other times, I don't like the tastes or textures, and I let Mummy know by making faces.

And sometimes we get really messy and the food gets all over my face and in my eyes and hair! Then I have to have a bath.

So far, I have tried many different things, like rice, millet, chicken, spinach, apple, green beans, sweet potato, carrot, mango, squash, prunes, avacado and banana!
I like Mango the best, but Mango and Spinach is pretty good too. Overall, I give eating 4 stars out of 5.

Laughter is the Best Medicine

Daddy has been sick for a long time, and last week, I was sick too with an ear infection. The medicine Mummy gave me was pretty yummy, but I think that laughter is the best medicine, so I'm doing lots of laughing for Daddy. We also had Gran come visit and help out twice, and I like playing with her; she built a thing so I can go in my Jolly Jumper outside in the backyard! Hooray!

Parties, Friends and Fun

We had a party at our new house! It was fun to celebrate Daddy's birthday and our new house, but both of my girlfriends came, so it was a little awkward. Here are some pictures of me trying to explain the situation to both Cambria and Mialana (I don't think either of them bought it.)

Sometimes, Mummy takes me to a playgroup called the Mama's and the Papa's, and last week we went on a big walk down to the water.

A couple of weeks ago, Daddy took me hiking in a backpack, I liked it at first, but then I got scared and Daddy had to carry me home in his arms.

This week, I have a cough, and Daddy has a fever. Also, I took a huge poop in my bathtub, but there aren't any pictures of that because Mummy didn't think it was a picture-worthy (but I thought it was pretty interesting!).

MultiTasking

I'm almost six months old now, and I can do a lot of things all at once. For instance, I can talk and bounce in my jolly jumper at the same time... I can eat rice cereal and wiggle at the same time... I can make funny faces and sounds while I play with my toys... Also, I can wear big boy two-piece pajamas and sit up all by myself!

Big Boy Bumbo

I've been doing a lot of Big Boy things this week! First, we went to the doctor and I got weighed: I have officially doubled my birth weight as I am now 17.5 lbs!
Then, I had to get needles in my bum again, but I was really brave and hardly cried at all.
Next, I am learning to sit up; I have a Bumbo that helps me with that.
And Last but not least, I am starting to try some rice cereal! Here is a video of my first try at rice cereal:

Here I am with Mummy and Daddy at our new house! Guess what?! I am going to start eating big people foods soon! I am very excited to try rice cereal and fruits and vegetables.

Gramps came to visit and I got to ride his motorcycle! Well, sit on it, not ride it. Mummy says I can't ride until my head fits inside Gramps's helmet.

I got a cold and I have a runny nose! I've never had a runny nose before! It is very goopy. I leave snot all over Mummy's shirt.

Oh boy! I live in a new house now! Mummy and Daddy packed up all our stuff, put me in a box and we moved to our new home. So many of our friends helped on moving day, we were really happy to have them help! I got to play with all sorts of nice friends; it was a lot of work and a lot of fun. Mummy and Daddy are unpacking and decorating the house, and we are having lots of good times here! See you soon!

Squash Squish Squash

This week I went on a road trip with Mummy's friends Kat and Liz. It was fun and I saw a lot of new things.
Liz said she was going to "squash" me; but she didn't even squish me a little bit, she just sat me down with some gourds, but she said they were squashes. English is really confusing, I think it's going to take me a while to get the hang of it. I have started to try out some new sounds with my mouth: Nah, Wah, Ah and Ga are my favs.

Mummy and Daddy say we're moving to the new house next week, so I might not have time to blog for a little while, but don't worry, I'll be back ASAP! Love: Noah

Great Grandma Grace's 100th Birthday!

My Great-Grandma Grace turned 100 years old on March 18th! (I'm only 5 months old, so I can learn a lot from her.) We went to Maxville and Apple Hill to celebrate her special birthday. It was very exciting; we had a big party with a gigantic cake, and then another party with another cake with strawberries, and then a lunch with cheesecake! Mummy likes cake. Anyway, we had a good time looking at pictures, visiting with the family and playing games. I played with Papa Joe and Nana Sue! Papa Joe and Daddy took me outside and taught me about springtime, because I've never seen spring before. I touched some trees and listened to birds and felt the warm sun on my arms. I like spring, it seems much better than winter. That's all for now!

Happy St.Patrick's Day everyone! Look at this great bib I got from my cousin Jackalyn! To celebrate, I did a number of things: first, I drank too much (milk) and got a little drunk, then I projectile vomited all over Mummy, myself and the carpet. Next, I slept all afternoon in my green sleeper and bib, and last but not least I learned Christmas songs with Daddy! I am going to become a drummer when I'm older, I've got rhythm... Well, Happy St.Patrick's Day, all you lucky leprechauns! Drink your green beer responsibly!
